Unique Animal carcasses Able to Make Car Dashboard
Researchers from the University of Alberta in Canada have developed a new method which they called thermal hydrolysis of a protein complex that makes the molecule that can be manipulated into different types of plastic.
The study, published in research journals such as reported caradvice Edmonton on Friday (08/19/2011) based on the fact that every week there were 5,000 tons of animal carcasses are disposed of by the food processing industry in North America. This animal carcasses when harnessed and processed chemicals, enough to make plastics artificially.
The future of artificial plastic of any animal carcasses according to Professor at the University of Alberta, David Bressler will no longer go into the automotive industry. Because plastic has been ogled by a company called Group Woodbridge which is a manufacturer of plastics for the automotive industry.
"We played with different recipes, mix with different properties which gives us a different mechanical behavior," he said.
"You can make something hard and broken, like the dashboard plastics are solid enough, or softer materials for the armrest," he added again.
"I want to have all the plastic made from renewable materials such as this,it would be the best scenario. But I think the automotive industry will be happy with 20 to 30 percent (from all parts of the car)," he added.
With a plastic made from animal carcasses according to Bressler automotive industry will be able to answer the worlds limited supply of plastic in the future.
But the price of plastic from animal carcasses that are still fairly expensive to be a stumbling block and now theyre thinking of ways to suppress the price. "You need something of high value to justify the conversion costs," he said.
